Quick answers

Do I need a licence or ticket to run a skid steer?
On private property, no special licence is required. If you have never run one, say so when you book — the driver walks you through the controls at drop-off, and the yard is a phone call away all rental long.
What size skid steer should I rent?
The smallest machine that still lifts your heaviest load and fits your tightest gap. Every machine page lists rated operating capacity and overall width, so check the gate and the heaviest thing you will move, and match the two.
Is a skid steer or a mini excavator better for my job?
They do different work. A skid steer moves, grades and lifts material; a mini excavator digs below grade. Lots of jobs book both and they share one float. Tell us the job and we will spec the pair.
