Fall is the busiest stretch of the year for this kind of work. Once Labour Day passes, everyone in the GTA starts racing the weather. Gutters need clearing before the leaves pile up and freeze. Second and third-storey trim needs paint while it is still warm enough to cure. Trees hanging over rooflines need trimming before an ice storm turns dead branches into a problem. Most residential jobs in the GTA call for an articulating boom, not a straight boom. Articulating booms bend at the knuckle, so they reach up and then over an obstacle: a bay window, a chimney, a porch roof, a tree between the driveway and the fascia. Straight booms are built for open commercial sites where nothing is in the way and you need straight up and out reach.
If your house has a flat wall with a clear approach, a straight boom can work. Most homes in Toronto, Mississauga and the older neighbourhoods of Oakville and Burlington have tighter lots, mature trees and closer setbacks, so an articulating unit is almost always the right call.
